Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction

Research has shown that 5%-15% of the US population has TMD. TMD, Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction, is pain and compromised movement of the jaw joint and the surrounding muscles. The TMJ acts like a sliding hinge, connecting your jawbone to your skull; dysfunction of this joint can lead to pain and discomfort. Common symptoms include, but not limited to, jaw pain, difficulty chewing, clicking and locking of the jaw, headaches, and ear pain.

Dr. Welch is also a trained Diplomat with the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain. She approaches treatment of TMD through with the use of multiple therapies to provide lasting relief for her patients.
